Roger Gauthier
Program Director
gauthier@glc.org

Gauthier has worked full-time for the Commission since 2002, first on a partnering arrangement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and then transitioning to a full-time staffer in 2005 after retiring from the U.S. federal government after nearly 30 years of service. He provides management support for the Data and Information Management Program that addresses program needs of the Commission's members, partners and associates. Much of the work of this program involves the design, implementation and maintenance of project databases, geographic information systems (GIS) and computing resources. He has extensive experience in the fields of hydraulics, hydrology, GIS, remote sensing, photogrammetry, restoration planning and coastal zone management. He is a past president of the Michigan Section of the American Water Resources Association and a past president of the Eastern Great Lakes Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. Gauthier holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Grand Valley State University.
