Lisa Butch served as a 2005-2006 Great Lakes Commission-Sea Grant Fellow. Lisa worked on Aquatic Nuisance Species Issues and for the Great Lakes Coastal Wetlands Consortium. She finished her master's degree in Marine Affairs (coastal and marine policy and management) from the University of Rhode Island where she focused on coastal development and regional (watershed or ecosystem) approaches to effective environmental management. Lisa's thesis is on Special Area Management Planning and inter-agency and inter-jurisdictional cooperation.

She received her BS in Environmental Science from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. While in RI she worked part time for the Cooperative Extension Water Quality Office. Lisa enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, and SCUBA diving, and is an avid runner.
