Katherine Glassner-Shwayder, GLC Project Manager Glassner-Shwayder has worked as an environmental policy analyst for the Great Lakes Commission since 1992. She provides support to the Great Lakes Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species in the areas of policy development and information/education.

Glassner-Shwayder holds a master's degree in water resources management from the University of Wisconsin, Institute for Environmental Studies (where she specialized in limnology and water quality) and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Oberlin College.

Before joining the Commission, she worked as a research associate at The Center for the Great Lakes. She also has experience as a Wisconsin Sea Grant extension agent, secondary science teacher and naturalist with the National Park Service.
