RAPIDS MAINTENANCE RELEASE 2.4.1 
---------------------------------
This release provides bug fixes and enhancements 
to implement the NIF 3.0 to RAPIDS import.

IMPORTANT: Existing users must have installed all of 
the subsequent database upgrades and data releases prior 
to installing this release. New users may use this 
release to install the most current RAPIDS software 
and a standalone starter database.

1) Install the RAPIDS application using the 
instructions in the README.TXT file located in the 
Software folder.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Microsoft Windows NT with Service Pack 6a or later
Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2 or later
Microsoft Windows XP


DOWNLOADING AND EXTRACTING THE SETUP FILES:
--------------------------------------------
1) Create a folder for the RAPIDS setup program. It 
is recommended that you locate the setup files in the 
application's main folder in a sub-folder named 
"setup" (e.g. C:\RAPIDS20\SETUP).

2) Download or copy the zip file called 
RAP20_M241.ZIP to the SETUP folder created in step 1.

3) Extract the setup files from the RAP20_M241.ZIP 
file into the SETUP folder.

NOTE: If you need to free up some disk space after 
the installation, you can delete the setup files from 
the SETUP folder. This will free up approximately 25 
MB. However, it is recommended that you save the 
RAP20_M241.ZIP file, at least for a while, in case a 
re-install is necessary.


RUNNING THE SETUP PROGRAM:
---------------------------
IMPORTANT: Before running the RAPIDS setup program, 
please REBOOT the machine where the install will take 
place. This ensures that any database drivers and 
application DLLs are unloaded from memory.  

IMPORTANT: If you are installing the software on a 
Windows NT or Windows 2000 machine, you will need to 
be logged in as 'administrator' or a user ID with 
administrator equivalence.

1) On the Start menu, select "Run..." and enter the 
full path to the Setup program, or use the 
"Browse..." button to locate the SETUP.EXE file (e.g. 
C:\RAPIDS20\SETUP\SETUP.EXE). This will begin the 
InstallShield Setup Program for RAPIDS.  

2) When the "Welcome" screen appears, be sure no 
other applications are running, and then click the 
"Next" button to continue.

3) On the "Choose Destination Location" screen, the 
specified installation path should already be 
correct. Click the "Next" button to continue.

4) On the "Setup Type" screen, select "Typical."  
Click the "Next" button to continue. 

5) On the "Select Program Folders" screen, click the 
"Next" button to continue. (The RAPIDS 2.0 Start 
Menu icon and the Rapids 2.0 Help icon will be 
located on the Start Menu under Programs\Rapids 2.0 
by default.)

6) After the application upgrade files have been 
copied, you will be on the "Setup Complete" screen.  
Click the "Finish" button to complete the setup.
