The Today Show to feature Great Lakes water levels

Great Lakes water levels will be featured on NBC's Today Show Monday, July 3. The story is approximately 4 minutes long and will run sometime between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Coordinated by the Great Lakes Commission, the story covers the effects of low water levels on the Great Lakes, including challenges for navigation of freighters, economic impacts to shipping, economic impacts to boating communities, drops in hydroelectric power, and impacts to businesses that rely on hydroelectric power. Representatives of the Lake Carriers' Association and New York Power Authority will be interviewed, among others. This national coverage will highlight numerous locations in the Great Lakes region, which may include Superior, Wis.; Grindstone City and Port Austin, Mich.; and the Niagara River in New York.
