GLIN 10th Anniversary Interactive Presentation

Now available at www.glin.net/10th/

To help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Great Lakes Information Network (GLIN), Commission staff has developed a new interactive, multimedia program, now available at www.glin.net/10th/. A treat for longtime GLIN users and Great Lakes enthusiasts, the audio slideshow traces GLIN's evolution in the context of Great Lakes history, computing development and the Internet revolution. This interactive application also highlights a few of GLIN's many products and services, including BeachCast, Daily News, Lake Conditions, Maps & GIS and T.E.A.C.H. By clicking on any feature you can jump directly to the "live" web site. Comments from GLIN partners and supporters round out the application, along with an introduction to planning efforts for the next decade of GLIN.

The Great Lakes Commission, chaired by Samuel W. Speck (Ohio), is a nonpartisan, binational compact agency created by state and U.S. federal law and dedicated to promoting a strong economy, healthy environment and high quality of life for the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence region and its residents. The Commission consists of state legislators, agency officials, and governors' appointees from its eight member states. Associate membership for Ontario and Québec was established through the signing of a "Declaration of Partnership." The Commission maintains a formal Observer program involving U.S. and Canadian federal agencies, tribal authorities, binational agencies and other regional interests. The Commission offices are located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
