The Eastern and Western Great Lakes Regions conducted a joint meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 18, 2010. The joint meeting was coordinated by Brian Huberty, President of the WGLR, with a lot of assistance from other capable members of the Western Region. The combined meeting had more than 35 participants. The morning meeting was conducted at the American Geographical Society Library on the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee campus and the afternoon session was conducted at the Great Lakes WATER Institute, including a tour of the Institute's lab facilities and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Research Vessel "Lake Guardian." The social events for the combined meeting included a boat tour of the Milwaukee River and Harbor and a dinner at the "Safe House," a hidden Milwaukee gem. Congratulations are extended to Brian and Company for another fantastic job well done.
