The Great Lakes Commission consists of three to five representatives from each of its eight member states. The appointment process varies from one state to the next, but in all cases the state delegations are composed of state legislators, agency officials, and/or governors' appointees. The chair of each state delegation serves on the Commission's Board of Directors.
