The Great Lakes Region goes by many names--it has been called the nation's
"breadbasket". . . "industrial heartland" . . . "water belt" . . . and "fresh
coast," to name a few. The Region means many things to many people. And, it's
living testament to the fact that you CAN have it all--a great place to live,
to work, and to visit.

It's been said that the Region's abundant natural resources are surpassed in
stature only by its human resources. Just as the Great Lakes rank among the
world's largest lakes, the Region consistently rates a "world class" ranking
in education, business, cultural activities, recreational opportunities,
housing, transportation, health facilities, environmental quality and many
more.
