Online Habitat Classification Analyses are available for each political jurisdiction (counties, townships, cities/villages, and lower tier municipalities). Although more limited that the full ICM Desktop tool, the multiple analyses offered for dowload allow the user to assess the spatial dimensions of habitat in a given area, acccording to different classification schemes. High quality habitat areas as well as potential conservation and restoration areas can be identified. Each terrestrial analysis offers a choice of three different habitat classification schemes, an impervious surface analysis, scores for each habitat patch, and a full metadata record (FGDC compliant). Project is a two-year cooperative effort (2002-2004) among the Great Lakes Commission, the U.S. National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Michigan Natural Features Inventory with support from NOAA's Coastal
Services Center under its Landscape Characterization and Restoration program.
