  • Conference Overview
    Please join us for the 6th binational conference for Lake St. Clair! The theme of this year's conference is building partnerships, strengthening collaboration and advancing the environmental and economic health of Lake St. Clair. The program will include plenary presentations to report on the status of major initiatives in the watershed, and smaller breakout sessions to focus on specific restoration and protection programs. The breakout sessions will be organized around the following topics:

    • Habitat and Fish and Wildlife
    • Tourism, Recreation and Economic Development
    • Managing Phragmites and other Aquatic Invasive Species
    • Protecting Drinking Water from Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River
    • Beach Closures and Bacterial Contamination
    • Watershed Impacts to Lake St. Clair

    A portion of the conference has also been dedicated to discussing key initiatives in the U.S. and Canadian sides of the watershed. The conference will provide ample opportunity for participation and input from attendees.

    Who Should Attend
    The conference is intended for resource managers, local officials, elected representatives, citizens organizations, business/industry representatives, recreational users, local residents, universities and researchers, tribes and First Nations, state and federal agency staff and the media with an interest in the Lake St. Clair watershed.

    Registration
    The conference registration fee is $45 and includes all meals and materials. Online registration is now closed. Please contact Erika Jensen (ejensen@glc.org) with questions or for more information.

    Lodging
    Lodging is available at the Hampton Inn Detroit/Roseville, located at 33680 Gratiot Avenue, Clinton Township, Michigan, 48035. A block of rooms has been reserved for the nights of Wed. Nov. 28 and Thurs. Nov. 29, at a rate of $89/night plus tax. The reserved block will be released on November 19, after which rooms will be provided on a space-available basis.
