DESCRIPTION:The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing a public meeting of the Great Lakes Advisory Board on August 30\, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT and August 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time with remote participation only. \nThe Great Lakes Advisory Board is chartered to provide advice and recommendations to EPA on matters related to the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the domestic implementation of the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement between the U.S. and Canada. EPA has charged the Great Lakes Advisory Board to address six themes/questions focusing on Great Lakes restoration and protection. These themes focus on current and ongoing challenges including: strategies to address legacy phosphorus; managing excess nutrients; GLRI outreach; invasive species; outcome based investments in the Great Lakes; and GLRI’s role in the vitality and reinvestment in Great Lakes communities.
