DESCRIPTION:Join Minnesota’s Lake Superior Coastal Program\, MNDNR\, for a virtual meeting to learn more the Great Lakes Coastal Flood Study\, using the Tribal Climate Adaptation Menu for hazard mitigation\, and recent habitat restoration projects at Wisconsin Point. \nAlan Lulloff\, Association of State Floodplain Managers\, will talk about FEMA’s Great Lakes Coastal Flood Study to update coastal flood maps. Alan will provide an overview of the mapping process and what these new flood maps will mean for coastal communities. \nAngela Yu and Rachael Pressley\, Western Upper Peninsula Planning & Development Region\, will talk about hazard mitigation planning with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. For the first time ever the Thunder Bay International Film Festival will be a virtual experience including online film screenings\, live-stream interviews\, Q&A and panel sessions with filmmakers\, scientists\, and ocean and Great Lakes stewards. \nNow in its 9th year\, the Thunder Bay International Film Festival (TBIFF) is a festival of independent ocean and Great Lakes films from all over the world.
