Resumption of work on an invasive carp barrier on the Des Plaines River about 45 miles south of Chicago is our only known protection from an invasion that could rob Lake Erie of benefits worth billions. Saving Lake Erie from the carp is back on track (for now), but it’s inexcusable that a month was lost to the Trump Administration’s mysterious stop-work order that has yet to be explained.
