On May 11, 2022, the University of Michigan – Dearborn will host the 2022 State of the Strait meeting titled “Contaminated Sediment Remediation in the Detroit and Rouge Rivers: Legacy, Present State, and Approaches to Collaborative Financing.” Presentations under this conference theme will explore the history of sediment contamination in the rivers, progress that has been made by both countries, the impact of ongoing and potential remediation for communities, and the path ahead. The program for this one-day event includes keynote speakers, presentations from state, local, and federal organizations, and an expert panel discussion on collaborative solutions between government and the private sector.
