Overview of Conference
In follow-up to a successful event in 2003, this conference will bring Great Lakes stakeholders together to report on progress — and unmet needs — in sustainability initiatives; strengthen partnerships; and devise strategies for collective action.

Attendees
This conference will be of interest to federal, state, provincial, regional and tribal/First Nations governments, environmental stakeholders, business/industry, and all with an interest in the environmental and economic future of the binational Great Lakes.

Program
This conference will advance efforts to secure a sustainable future for the binational Great Lakes-St. Lawrence region by balancing human activities and natural systems. Current restoration themes will provide a framework for plenary and breakout sessions focusing on actions being taken, unmet needs, and strategies to address them. Social events will provide opportunities for networking. Participants are welcome to attend the 2004 Semiannual Meeting of the Great Lakes Commission on May 4.

Potential Speakers
Conference speakers will include senior White House officials and high-level representatives from Congress, officials from all levels of government in the region, as well as environmental stakeholders, industry and academia with a commitment to the binational Great Lakes region.
