Jill Estrada – Program Specialist

Jill joined the Great Lakes Commission after working to protect desert tortoise habitat in the Mojave Desert of California. She is a native Michigander and spent her childhood exploring nature in her hometown of West Bloomfield. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Michigan State University and her Master of Science degree in conservation ecology from the University of Michigan.

She enjoys her time off visiting natural areas and volunteering at hospitals and assisted living facilities with her certified therapy dog. Jill’s role as a habitat restoration program specialist serves to support regional habitat restoration programs and aquatic invasive species programs.
