Jill Estrada – Project Manager

Jill’s role as project manager in the Coastal Conservation and Habitat Restoration program supports a variety of habitat projects throughout the Great Lakes basin, including those supported by the NOAA-GLC Regional Habitat Partnership to restore habitat in Great Lakes Areas of Concern and priority Great Lakes coastal wetland habitat outside of Areas of Concern

Jill joined the Great Lakes Commission in 2019 after serving as Preserve Manager and Conservation Coordinator at a small NGO in southern California, which focused on the research and protection of desert tortoise habitat in the Mojave Desert. Her background includes land management, grant writing, and public outreach/education. Jill is a native Michigander and received her Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Michigan State University and her Master of Science degree in conservation ecology from the University of Michigan.
