The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will survey Michigan’s Long Lake Outlet–Devils Lake tributary to estimate sea lamprey populations and determine whether additional control measures are needed. Sea lampreys are invasive, parasitic fish that can kill up to 40 pounds of fish during their lifetime, making regular tributary surveys a key part of protecting the Great Lakes fishery and preventing new generations from reaching the lakes.
