Working with Nature for Shorelines

Visit Lyme Free Library on Friday, October 21, 2022, for a free, 1-4 pm “Working with Nature for Shorelines” workshop on shoreline management techniques with a concentration on the use of natural and nature-based features, site visits and DEC shoreline project permitting, overviews of local Coastal Lakeshore Economy and Resiliency Initiative projects, funding, and volunteer opportunities, with optional tour of ongoing nature-based shoreline restoration at Lyme Town Park.

Speakers include New York Sea Grant Coastal Processes and Hazards Specialist Roy Widrig, author of Working with Nature: A Guide to Native Plants for New York’s Great Lakes Shorelines. Presented by New York Sea Grant (NYSG), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Department of State, Save The River, and Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District.
