Searching for What You Can’t See – Chemicals in Lake Ontario

November 16, 2022

Join us for a one-hour public webinar, Searching for What You Can’t See – Chemicals in Lake Ontario.

We’ll hear from expert Steve Corsi from the United States Geological Survey who will provide an overview of chemical contaminants in the Great Lakes, as well as Wayne Richter of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation who will explain how we monitor and measure toxic chemicals in Lake Ontario fish. We’ll also hear from Paul Helm from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks who will discuss current research on microplastics in Lake Ontario and Canadian regulations to manage the issue. We’ll also take questions from the audience and provide information on how people at home and in their communities can prevent harmful chemicals from ending up in Lake Ontario.

This is a virtual webinar hosted on Zoom and part of our webinar series, Let’s Talk Lake Ontario!
