Fellow researchers from around the world will gather online May 17-21, 2021, for IAGLR's 64th annual Conference on Great Lakes Research.

Please join the Society for Freshwater Science for our first ever virtual meeting! We are enthusiastic about hosting a program focused on the theme of transformation.

The Great Lakes Fishery Commission will hold a public Annual Meeting online, on May 26-27, 2021.  At this meeting, the public can learn about and discuss developments in the Great Lakes fishery. Commissioners and the U.S. and Canadian Committees of Advisors will hold meetings here as well.

The Dredging Summit & Expo ’21 is a technical conference organized by the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) to promote the exchange of knowledge in fields related to dredging, navigation, marine engineering and construction. The 2021 expo theme is: Dredging: The Impacts of Climate Change. 

The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Water Resources Regional Body will meet on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Council will also meet on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.

Following the pressing needs of the society to ensure a sustainable future, amidst human-influenced environmental changes, the theme of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) 2021 Aquatic Sciences Meeting is Aquatic Sciences for a Sustainable Future: Nurturing Cooperation.

On Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. CT/11 a.m. ET, please join us for a one-hour virtual webinar on Lake Superior! This event will share the latest on Lake Superior’s overall conditions, threats and actions.

CHAOS is a community for sharing knowledge and resources about natural hazards that affect Lake Superior’s coastal communities. CHAOS will be hosting its summer meeting virtually on Wednesday, July 28.

Update: Now Virtual: The 2021 Annual General Meeting will take place virtually, from August 25-26.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing a public meeting of the Great Lakes Advisory Board on August 30, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT and August 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time with remote participation only.

On September 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. EDT, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers will be hosting a webinar focusing on maritime transportation, including the launch of the GSGP’s 5-year GSGP action plan; smart shipping, green shipping and other strategies to increase economic value and environmental performance.

On September 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. EDT, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers will be hosting a discussion focusing on water infrastructure—including racial equity, environmental justice and inclusion in economically disadvantaged areas.

The Interagency Ecological Restoration Quality Committee (IERQC) Monthly Webinar Series will present A Synthesis of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the Perceived Benefits for People and Nature, by Matthew Jurjonas, The Nature Conservatory.

On October 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. EDT, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers will be hosting a discussion focusing on the Great Lakes Impact Investment Platform, including a spotlight on participating projects as well as the opportunities and promise of impact investing for different types of communities where both positive environmental and social impacts are possible.

Please save the date for the next Great Lakes Dredging Team meeting, which will take place virtually via webinar on October 5, 2021.

On October 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. EDT, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers will be hosting a discussion focusing on Invasive Species, including creative approaches to combat invasive carp, phragmites and others that threaten the Great Lakes St. Lawrence region.

This webinar will present a summary of the findings and recommendations of the International Joint Commission Great Lakes Science Advisory Board-Research Coordination Committee's recent report, "Monitoring Infrastructure and Activities of Great Lakes Connecting Waters: An Assessment and Recommendations."
