This 9th International Charr Symposium will gather scientists with an interest in charr biology from the whole distribution of the genus, and will disseminate the latest research findings within a broad range of topics. The U.S. Brig NIAGARA Environmental Science Field School is a multi-disciplinary experience incorporating marine sciences, underwater archaeology, and square-rig seamanship, and in past years has contributed leading-edge research on micro-bead pollution in the Great Lakes. The program takes place on the U.S. Brig NIAGARA, a reconstructed nineteenth-century sailing ship, owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and operated as a sailing school vessel. You are invited to the 2018 Great Lakes Beach Association and Great Lakes Water Safety Consortium Joint Conference on October 24-25, 2018, at the DoubleTree Hilton in Independence (near Cleveland), Ohio. This joint conference will draw more than 200 resource managers, scientists, coastal planners, local officials, government agencies, students, and interest groups from around the Great Lakes. We expect up to 16 sessions showcasing a variety of Great Lakes beach protection and water safety issues. Registration is now open for the 2018 Binational Lake St. Clair Conference, which will take place at MacRay Harbor on Lake St. Clair, Michigan. The conference will highlight environmental management efforts in the "Heart of the Great Lakes," the Lake St. Clair watershed shared by the U.S. and Canada.
