Dan Blake Dan Blake is a research fellow funded by the Edna Bailey Sussman Fund of New York to help develop a Water Resources Management Decision Support System for the Great Lakes. He is gathering data on the distribution, abundance and interaction of Great Lakes water resources and is helping to develop uniform water management programs related to diversion, consumptive use, water conservation and demand management. Currently, Blake is pursuing a master’s in public policy and a master’s in natural resource policy at the University of Michigan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Brigham Young University and lived in Washington, D.C., for two years writing and editing for Greenwireand National Journal.

Elizabeth Moore Elizabeth Moore ([email protected]) has been awarded the Great Lakes Commission-Sea Grant Fellowship, sponsored by the National Sea Grant College Program, the Great Lakes Commission, and the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network. She works on multiple projects at the Commission, including a management initiative for Lake St. Clair, the Statewide Public Advisory Council forMichigan’s Areas of Concern Program, and the Ohio Watershed Planning Training Project. Moore recently completed her master’s degree in natural resources at the Ohio State University, with an emphasis on collaborative resource management and environmental policy. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University in anthropology.

Amy Morrow Amy Morrow comes to the Commission as a Research Associate providing assistance for the Great Lakes Basin Program for Soil Erosion and Sediment control. She recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Natural Resources with a concentration in Landscape Design and Planning.

The Great Lakes Commission, chaired by Nathaniel E. Robinson (Wisconsin), is a nonpartisan, binational compact agency created by state and U.S. federal law and dedicated to promoting a strong economy, healthy environment and high quality of life for the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence region and its residents. The Commission consists of state legislators, agency officials and governors’ appointees from its eight member states. Associate membership for Ontario and Quebec was established through the signing of a “Declaration of Partnership.” The Commission maintains a formal Observer program involving U.S. and Canadian federal agencies, tribal authorities, binational agencies and other regional interests. The Commission offices are located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
