Our Work
Advocacy
The Great Lakes Commission helps its member states and provinces speak with a common voice by coordinating, analyzing, advising, communicating and advocating for shared priorities with the U.S. Congress and federal agencies. The GLC also collaborates with other regional, national and international organizations to advance common interests. The GLC’s advocacy priorities are based on its policy resolutions. A cornerstone of the GLC’s advocacy program is its annual Great Lakes Day in Washington at which priorities are shared with the members of Congress and federal agencies who shape Great Lakes policies.
