SEMCOG, in partnership with the Great Lakes Commission, is hosting a SEMCOG University on Green Infrastructure planning and engineering practices. The Great Lakes Commission Green Infrastructure Champions Pilot Program is intended to catalyze the adoption of green infrastructure practices and policies across the Great Lakes region by bringing together green infrastructure leaders and helping them share their knowledge.
This workshop will include presentations from the City of Southfield, Macomb County and Clinton Township on green infrastructure planning and implementation opportunities. Additionally, Kate Morgan from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District will highlight a recently released guidebook on Tackling Barriers to Green Infrastructure: An Audit of Local Codes and Ordinances. Participants will also have an opportunity to sign up for technical assistance through the mentoring network.
