Registration for the Michigan Chapter SWCS 2021 ANR Webinar is now open. Due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, the Annual ANR Week event will be held as a webinar this year. 

SOLO21 is the fourth in an annual series of State of Lake conferences hosted by the International Association for Great Lakes Research. These conferences promote collaborations between the science and policy communities—particularly lake-specific research, management, education, and nonprofit organizations—to broaden the discussion and provide diverse interaction among stakeholders.

This online free interactive conference featuring talks and an extended question period on topics such as bottom-up and invasive species mediated changes to Lake Michigan’s food web; Interactions of three invasive species on Lake Michigan spawning reefs; and Tribal operations of raising and releasing lake whitefish and cisco in Lake Michigan plus many more topics.

For all attendees' health and safety, WEDA's Midwest Chapter Board has decided to go virtual for the 2021 Meeting due to the continuing pandemic. The 2021 Virtual Meeting is Thursday, March 18th, 2021 from 1 to 5:00 PM CST. Participants and presenters are sought regarding best dredging practices and innovation in the Midwest and beyond.

Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing a public meeting of the Great Lakes Advisory Board on March 30th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Time and March 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Central Time with remote participation only.

The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Council (Compact Council) will be holding a special meeting on Thursday, April 8, 2021 via webinar conference call.

The Great Lakes Fishery Commission will hold a public Annual Meeting online, on May 26-27, 2021.  At this meeting, the public can learn about and discuss developments in the Great Lakes fishery. Commissioners and the U.S. and Canadian Committees of Advisors will hold meetings here as well.

The Dredging Summit & Expo ’21 is a technical conference organized by the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) to promote the exchange of knowledge in fields related to dredging, navigation, marine engineering and construction. The 2021 expo theme is: Dredging: The Impacts of Climate Change. 

The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Water Resources Regional Body will meet on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Council will also meet on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.

CHAOS is a community for sharing knowledge and resources about natural hazards that affect Lake Superior’s coastal communities. CHAOS will be hosting its summer meeting virtually on Wednesday, July 28.
