The theme of this year's symposium is: NALMS at 40: Advancing our Mission to Forge Partnerships. This virtual symposium will be held November 16-20, 2020.

The MSU Extension Conservation Stewards Program presents a free six-part webinar series on Tuesdays in October (20, 27th), November (10, 24th) and December (8, 15th) 2020 from noon to 1:00pm (Eastern time) features speakers exploring conservation efforts and innovative ecosystem-based management approaches in Michigan.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival for Michigan will be hosted by the Middle Grand River Organization of Watersheds on December 6th. It is a live virtual event so it can be attended from anywhere with an internet connection. The festival will feature 12 films that will celebrate wild places and the people who protect them.

As a way of keeping in touch in the non-sailing season and deepening our understanding of the Great Lakes, ISEA hosts informal monthly events throughout the winter. Typically these would be in person, but this year they will take place online.

In January 2021, join Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary as we take our annual film festival online! For the first time ever the Thunder Bay International Film Festival will be a virtual experience including online film screenings, live-stream interviews, Q&A and panel sessions with filmmakers, scientists, and ocean and Great Lakes stewards.

Registration for the Michigan Chapter SWCS 2021 ANR Webinar is now open. Due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, the Annual ANR Week event will be held as a webinar this year. 

SOLO21 is the fourth in an annual series of State of Lake conferences hosted by the International Association for Great Lakes Research. These conferences promote collaborations between the science and policy communities—particularly lake-specific research, management, education, and nonprofit organizations—to broaden the discussion and provide diverse interaction among stakeholders.

This online free interactive conference featuring talks and an extended question period on topics such as bottom-up and invasive species mediated changes to Lake Michigan’s food web; Interactions of three invasive species on Lake Michigan spawning reefs; and Tribal operations of raising and releasing lake whitefish and cisco in Lake Michigan plus many more topics.

For all attendees' health and safety, WEDA's Midwest Chapter Board has decided to go virtual for the 2021 Meeting due to the continuing pandemic. The 2021 Virtual Meeting is Thursday, March 18th, 2021 from 1 to 5:00 PM CST. Participants and presenters are sought regarding best dredging practices and innovation in the Midwest and beyond.
