Harnessing Historic Investment

The eight-state, binational Great Lakes basin sustains a $6 trillion economy, contains more than 90% of North America’s supply of surface freshwater, and provides drinking water for more than 40 million people in the United States and Canada.

Harnessing historic federal investment in Great Lakes infrastructure, resiliency, and restoration will address longstanding needs while creating jobs, fostering equity, protecting public health, and strengthening local communities. Investing in planning and capacity to maximize these investments will take the Great Lakes basin to the next level.
