Save the date! Join the Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition for a virtual conference series this fall, sponsored by the Joyce Foundation and the Great Lakes Fishery Trust.

For the 2021 River Symposium, all talks will be available live online and will focus on the health of our freshwater ecosystems. This year the theme is ‘Global Challenges, Local Concerns’, and we look forward to learning about how our local freshwater ecosystems are being affected by climate change, land use change, invasive species, pollution and exploitation.

The Interagency Ecological Restoration Quality Committee (IERQC) Monthly Webinar Series will present: A Decision Analytic Approach to Collaboratively Respond to Invasive Grass Carp in Lake Erie, presented by Dr. Kelly Robinson, Michigan State University, Quantitative Fisheries Center.

This event is the latest in our webinar series, Let’s Talk Lake Ontario and will focus on the issue of Cladophora in the lake, why it’s a problem and what’s being done about it.

The 2021 Virtual Great Lakes PFAS Summit goals are to provide the most current and reliable science and policy, facilitate information sharing, and explore current and future research topics related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing a public meeting of the Great Lakes Advisory Board on December 15th, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Standard Time with remote participation only. Registration for this meeting has been extended to December 14.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has conducted the first cumulative assessment of the Canadian Great Lakes nearshore waters; the Great Lakes community is invited to the webinar series to explore the results and discuss the findings.

Registration for the award-winning Michigan State University Extension Introduction to Lakes Online course is now open! This six-week online course runs January 25- March 16, 2022 and is designed for anyone interested in inland lakes, including lakefront property owners, recreational users and managers.
