2nd Binational Great Lakes Aquatic Invasive Species Forum – November 2017

Ann Arbor, Michigan

The second Binational Great Lakes Aquatic Invasive Species Forum will be held November 9, 2017, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Forum will bring together representatives of federal, state and provincial agencies, research facilities, environmental groups, private industry, and other key stakeholders, from the United States and Canada who are working on aquatic invasive species (AIS) issues. It will provide an opportunity for these AIS experts to

  • convene on issues of common interest;
  • coordinate regional leadership and facilitate cooperation on AIS prevention and control;
  • exchange information and share lessons learned on effective approaches to AIS prevention, management, and control; and
  • identify scientific, technology, management, and policy gaps, needs and opportunities to advance AIS prevention and control collaboratively in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River region.

Erie, Pennsylvania

The first Binational Great Lakes Aquatic Invasive Species Forum was held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Forum was hosted by the Great Lakes Commission, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, and other partners.
